Steve Bruce Planning to bring Joe Ledley to Aston Villa

Steve Bruce has always been an admirer of Joe Ledley and the reports suggest that he is looking to bring him at Aston Villa.

Bruce had tried to buy Ledley in the past as well, but, unsuccessfully.

Ledley had attracted the interest of Bruce 8 years back when the former was a part of Cardiff City and the latter was in charge of Wigan Athletic.

Cardiff was believed to be demanding an amount in excess of seven and a half million Dollars for the Welshman and Bruce was ready to pay the amount. But, for some unknown reasons, the deal couldn’t take place and Ledley landed at the Scottish club Celtic.

Ever since, there had been no opportunity for Bruce to get united with Ledley and work alongside him, but, now he has that opportunity again.
Ledley is a free agent right now and is available to be signed.

However, there is immense competition for him and he has a number of offers on his platter. So Bruce has his work cut out to convince him to come to Aston Villa. But, he will have to do that somehow because Ledley is an ideal player for Villa. They are in dire need of someone like him at the moment.

The midfield play of Aston Villa has been lacklustre to say the least in the last little while. Those who follow the team know that pretty well.

And the lacklustre midfield play is precisely the reason why they remained stuck in the bottom half of the Championship right through the previous season and ended at 13th.

If Ledley comes in, he would not only bring skill and quality, but, would bring some spark as well which is much needed in the Villa squad
