Aston Villa have, according to fresh reports, emerged as a possible destination for Manchester United winger Daniel James as speculations continue to mount on the future of the forward this summer.

James has continued to slide down the pecking order at Old Trafford and with the imminent arrival of club legend Cristiano Ronaldo, it continues to look extremely difficult that the Welsh forward will get his desired amount of game time at Old Trafford, Ronaldo will make competition for places in the attacking setup even harder and will add to the presence of Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Mason Greenwood, Amad Diallo, Jesse Lingard, Anthony Martial, and Juan Mata.

With Rashford set to return to action after recently resuming training following the surgery he had on his shoulder, United are getting almost their full players in full fitness and the competition for places will get even tougher with Martial, Mata, Lingard, and Diallo all expected to have limited game time. United manager Olé Gunnar Solksjaer recently revealed during his pre-match press conference ahead of his side's trip to the Molineux Stadium to take on Wolverhampton Wanderers that Amad Diallo could be heading out on loan this summer but he made no mention of Daniel James.
James has been reported to have been attracting interest from a host of Premier League clubs, with Leeds United, Crystal Palace, and Borussia Dortmund all being linked to signing him. However, he is still at the club and there is no sign yet that he will be leaving Old Trafford.
A move to Aston Villa would be feasible for the player as he could find it very hard to find his way back into the starting XI, especially when Ronaldo finally arrives and makes his second debut for the club.
